The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) adopted a new safety standard EN14017 late last year for fertilizer spreaders. This standard, already implemented by most EU countries, provides for a safety guard rail to be fitted to the machine to protect people from moving parts.
“The UK has not yet implemented this new standard but will have to do so within the next few months. We have been supplying all Amazone spreaders with the safety rail (see picture) since the beginning of the year as we regard it as an essential safety feature that is already mandatory in other countries such as Germany and France,”
