Machine of the Day
The latest Hibiscus rake from Lely
Lely Industries introduces the 485 model with some exciting new features to replace the existing Hibiscus 461.  The new Hibiscus 485T rake with a rotor diameter of 3,8 m has a working width of 4,8 m, slightly wider than the working width of the Hibiscus 461. The rotor is fitted with 13 tine arms - each with 4 tines - achieving an outstandingly clean raking result.

In comparison with the Hibiscus 461, this new rake has a totally new headstock design including an ingeniously designed steering lock. In work the machine will follow the tractor even in sharp turns, but the active locking mechanism will swing the rake back into the transport position during lifting thus locking the machine for safe turning and transport even on side slopes.

The revolutionary new design modular gearbox is introduced for the first time on the single rotor Hibiscus 485T. This gearbox features the chrome steel shafts already proven on other Hibiscus models, but bearing spacings have been increased. Optimum durability is ensured by the special profile weld-free tine arms mounted directly on these shafts.

The tine arms of the Hibiscus 485 can be easily removed reducing machine transport width to only 2.45 m. The tine arms can be stored quickly and simply on the machine itself giving a substantial saving on storage space.

The machine comes as standard with a tandem axle assembly including four truly 'mega' balloon wheels (18.5/8,5-8) to ensure optimum ground contour following as well as maximum machine stability.
