Machine of the Day
A foldable drill from Kuhn
Legislation that limits the loading on tractors when used on the road can be restrictive for some of the larger implements now in use, but not for Kuhn’s new six metre foldable drill / power harrow combination. The CS 6003 R is fitted with a dual support wheel equipped with an integral hydraulic braking system. By taking part of the unit’s weight in transport, this wheel ensures the machine does not exceed legal weight limits.

The support wheel is raised when the unit is in work, so there are no tracks in the seeding line and no unnecessary manoeuvres when turning on headlands.

The unit is made up of an HR 6003 CSR power harrow and two BTF 302 R coulter bars, with a 700 litre TF 702 front hopper available as an option. The coulter bars can be fitted with either 48 coulters in three rows or 48 discs in two rows, and can be removed to allow the power harrow to be used solo. Front hopper capacity can be increased to 1300 litres as an option.

All major functions – including unfolding/folding of the power harrow, support wheel positioning, side marker positioning, coulter bar lifting, metering unit drive wheel lifting – are managed through an in-cab electronic control box.

The CS 6003 R is a 6 metre seed drill / power harrow combination for tractors in the 150 – 280hp range. It folds to a transport width of 2.95 metres.
