Externally, functional new guarding allows easier access to the side of the machine for maintenance and inspection. Under the covers, a new Easy Load System (ELS) allows easier loading of the net roll, all of which can be done at ground level at the left-hand side of the machine. The amount of net wrap applied per bale can be easily adjusted in the cab with the new E-Link handset. The density setting for bales is also adjustable from the handset.

The Lely Welger RP 235 Xtracut 17 features a new 17 knife Xtracut chopping system with selectable knife banks. The operator can select all 17 knives, 9 knives or 8 knives from the E-Link handset without having to physically remove knives. As with all Lely Welger models, Greasable Taper Roller Bearings are standard.
