MONDAY FEBRUARY 16 2004 Heifers sold to £508 for a 480 kgs Charolais with similar heifers selling at £430 for 390 kgs, £390 for 350 kgs and £338 for 300 kgs. Limousins also sold well with £405 paid for 350 kgs and £332 for 300 kgs - both paid to a Silverbridge farmer. Another choice batch of Limousin heifers from an Altnamachin farm sold to £290 for 240 kgs, £270 for 200 kgs, £262 for 240 kgs and £228 for 220 kgs. Other Limousins from the Keady area sold at £300 for 260 kgs and £320 for 310 kgs while a Simmental from the same producer made £290 for 280 kgs. Clean eared steers sold to £600 paid for a Limousin at 410 kgs with £415 paid for a similar animal at 320 kgs. Simmentals in this section made £522 for 310 kgs, Belgian Blues to £300 for 170 kgs and Friesans to £218 for 190 kgs and £215 for 160 kgs. Single punched steers sold at £655 for a Belgian Blue at 510 kgs with £578 paid for a Simmental at 460 kgs and £518 paid for an Aberdeen Angus at £420. Top price in this section was £732 paid for a Limousin at 640 kgs with other Limousins selling at £620 for 490 kgs, £580 for 400 kgs, £550 for 410 kgs, £528 for 410 kgs, £520 for 430 kgs, £500 for 410 kgs, £500 for 380 kgs and £490 for 390 kgs. Charolais made to £645 for 560 kgs, £535 for 410 kgs, £522 for 390 kgs and £505 for 410 kgs. Double punched steers cleared readily with Limousins making £645 for 590 kgs and £618 for 580 kgs and Simmentals selling to £630 for 620 kgs.
