An increased entry of 4,620 prime lambs, leaving an overall average of 114.9ppkg compared with an average of 119.6ppkg in 2003. There was an excellent entry of 2,532 cull ewes and rams with ewes averaing £26.60 and rams £31.80. Ewes peaked at £54.00 for a bunch of 5 ewes presented by CE & TL Pryce, Tyn Y Pwll, Cyfronydd and £49.50 for a lot of 17 ewes sold by HB Tudor, Tynberllan, Llanilar. A single ewe sold for £47.80 sold by GP & D Jones, Clawdd Coch, Caregoffa. Rams sold to £35.00 sold by MG & MM Williams, Llwyn Onn Brooks and £34 (x2) sold by JE Gittins & Sons, Ystum Colwyn and DH Owen, Rhydyfelin.

An excellent trade was experienced in the prime cattle with a 545kgs limousin cross heifer presented by G Bound & Son, Cefn Bach, Oakley Park selling for 129ppkg and purchased by Mr Brian Evans, Corwen Butchers. Messs G Bound & Son, Cefn Bach sold three limousin cross, medium weight steers for 125ppkg (x2) and 120ppkg which were purchased by Mr Brian Evans, Corwen Butchers. Mr EM Morgan, Brynhaul sold for 114ppkg which was purchased by John Langford, Welshpool. Overall average for the medium weight steers 121.01ppkg. The top four heavy weight steers, were all limousin cross cattle which peaked at 128ppkg presented by JC Davies & Son, Gelli Gethin, Llanfair Caereinon and purchased by Corwen Butchers. Others sold to 118ppkg and 108ppkg, both presented by EE & MJ Jones & Sons, Cwmbychan, Leighton with Mr John Langford purchased for 110ppkg presentedby RM Morris & Co., Coed Cowrhyd, Meifod. The heavy weight steers average 106.54ppkg. The medium weight heifers sold to 128ppkg presented by G Bound & Son, Cefn Bach, with JC Davies & Son, Gelli Gethin selling two for 119ppkg and 114ppkg which were purchased by John Langford, Welshpool. Messrs JHH Jerman & Co., Wernddu, Churchstoke sold for 111ppkg, with TH & ME & EJ Jones, Plas Coch, Dolanog selling a charolais cross for 106ppkg. Overall average for medium weight heifers 110.4ppkg. Heavy heifers sold to 129ppkg, sold by G Bound & Son, Cefn Bach, who also sold for 115ppkg and purchased by Corwen Butchers and John Langford respectively. An entry forward of 45 cows and calves met with an easier trade with the prices achieved not being as strong as in recent times. Top price of the day was £1260 for a belgian blue cross 2nd calver with a limousin cross bull calf at foot presented by DM Jones, Gesailfa, Llawryglyn. From the same home was a similar outfit which made £1110. An aberdeen angus cross with a limousin cross bull calf sold for £920 presented by W Evans & Son, Mardy Farm. Two limousin cross 1st calvers with limousin cross heifer calves made £750 a piece from Price and Price, Cwmearl. A simmental cross 2nd calver with twin belgian blue cross bull calves made £950 presented by EJ Lewis, Rhoslas, Dolanog. An entry of three limousin cross 1st calvers, two with bulls and one with a heifer from JA Kynaston, Nant Ucha £850, £980 and £890 respectively. Older outfits were hard sold with charolais cross cows born 96 and 97 with steer calves at foot sold for £575. A further breakdown was as follows:- £1000+ = 2 lots, £900-£1000= 3 lots, £800-£900 = 10 lots, £700-£800=11 lots, £600-£700= 8 lots, £500-£600=6 lots, £500 and less = 1 lot. An excellent trade was experienced in the calf section, for the second week running with a strong trade on freisian bulls especially. Top price for a freisian bull calf was £88 from WR Gwilt and Son, The Willows, Pool Quay. Overall 5 freisian bull calves averaged £63.20. A belgian blue cross bull calf from DE Jones & Son, Gerlan, Pool Quay sold for £210. A charolais cross heifer from WR Gwilt and Son made £80.
