CRUCIAL TIME AHEAD FOR QMS AND RED MEAT INDUSTRY
NFU Scotland has welcomed the address by Quality Meat Scotland's new Chairman Jim Walker at the organisation's conference in Carnoustie today. NFUS has again highlighted the vital role QMS has to play in improving the competitiveness and profitability of the Scottish red meat industry.

NFUS President John Kinnaird said:

"The future of Scotland's red meat industry will rely on effective promotion and marketing and the role of Quality Meat Scotland in tackling those objectives has never been more important.

"Now with full control of all of Scotland's levy, QMS is ideally placed to take advantage of the Scotch brand. Communication with the industry at all levels will be crucial to the success of the organisation in selling Scotland and its produce. Against a background of continued development of QMS, the future of Scotland's red meat industry looks very promising indeed."
