Furthermore, the new combustion system with optimised fluid dynamics of the cylinder heads and combustion chambers allows for significant reductions in fuel consumption. The engine is equipped with an electronic governor with a hand throttle lever conveniently located on the middle cab upright and a pushbutton to save and recall engine operating speeds.

The transmission is also brand new: the Explorer 85 and 95 are equipped with a mechanical 5-speed synchronised gearbox, with the option of Agroshift and change-on-the-go hydraulic shuttle controlled from a lever mounted on the steering column. With the Agroshift option, the Explorer offers up to 60 forward and 60 reverse gears, with 3 change-on-the move ratios.

The Explorer range is also equipped with an electronic lift control with radar, while the lifting capacity has been increased to 6200 kg with the supplementary lifting cylinders. The front lift and PTO are fully integrated in the front support, so there are no mounting brackets to impede steering. Likewise the two cross-gate control levers for the hydraulic service spool valves are integrated in the console. The new Explorers also provide electrohydraulic controls for the front-wheel drive, differential locks and PTO.
