The new Versu and Direct models have been praised for how easy they are to drive, which in turn increases productivity. The new transmission technology offers enhanced performance for different conditions and a wider range of tasks. For example, the stepless Direct transmission performs smoothly even in the cold winter conditions of Scandinavia, and it is as efficient when working with the TwinTrac reverse drive system. With its ground speed PTO the stepless tractor can also be used for powered trailers. Versu models also offer unparalleled levels of comfort, as demonstrated by the record low noise levels achieved in official tests.
The Versu, Direct and new S Series models are all as comfortable and simple to operate thanks to the ergonomic controls in the driver’s armrest. Valtra’s revolutionary and patented armrest offers drivers space to move and change positions. The integrated wrist support makes it easier to use the controls at high speeds and in bumpy conditions. Thanks to the controls on the armrest it is easy to work in all directions. TwinTrac reverse drive controls are available on all Versu, Direct and S Series models.
The Direct models differ from other stepless tractors in that the driver has four stepless transmissions at his use. The driver can select the ideal driving range for the task at hand, thus creating the optimum efficiency between the engine and transmission. Nevertheless, each of the four driving ranges begins from zero and offers stepless speed adjustment. At slow speeds when attached to a powered trailer, the pulling power of Direct models is exceptional. Valtra’s unique tractor technology is also demonstrated by the Speed Balance function, which allows the driver to program different driving speeds when using the forward-reverse shuttle. The pulling power can be adjusted to allow smooth starts when performing loading work, as with the turbine clutch. The amount of engine braking can also be adjusted to make it easier to control the tractor in difficult conditions, for example when slowing down on slippery surfaces. The hydraulics assistant automatically increases rpm to speed up with the hydraulics without changing the driving speed, which is particularly useful for front-loader work.
The AGCO Sisu Power SCR engines on the new S Series have already received a lot of positive press for their environmental friendliness, power and efficiency. The SCR technology, which sprays urea into the exhaust gas stream, minimises nitrogen oxide emissions. SCR also reduces fuel consumption, especially when combined with the stepless transmission and intelligent automation. The S Series is also available with unique Valtra features such as the TwinTrac reverse drive system and semi-active AutoComfort cab suspension.
N and T Series Versu models are now available. The new S Series will also go on sale this spring, and sales of Direct models will begin this summer. The timing may change from country to country.
