The new Xerion from Claas
| Erwin Agri Care at Nutt's Corner are now featuring the new Xerion tractor from Claas. In developing the project, the challenge faced by the CLAAS engineers was as big as the XERION itself – to build a tractor that can do precisely those jobs that pose a serious problem for standard 300 HP machines without additional ballasting and twin tyres: to deliver enormous engine power to the ground. |

In
addition, an extremely diverse system vehicle was created, making many
different applications in modern farming possible for the very first time.
Two models are available. The XERION 3300 TRAC is a straightforward tractor with a mounting area behind the cab - for mounting a seed tank, for example. On the XERION 3300 TRAC VC, the cab can be turned 180°. This creates a multifunctional system vehicle for a number of different applications. With the basic tractor, you also have the basis for a self-propelled vehicle. Bigger contact area. Four tyres, all the same size with a maximum 2.05 m diameter, provide for an enormous contact area. This reduces slip to an ideal value between 5 to 10%, no matter how soft the ground is. All-wheel steering maintains full manoeuvrability. With a 13 metre turning circle – just 12 metres with the corresponding tyres - this powerful package is as agile as a car. More weight. The XERION weighs around 13 tonnes, thanks to the full frame design. With only 2 tonnes extra weight on the front axle, this tractor offers considerably more tractive power than any standard machine. The permissible total on-road weight is 18 tonnes. The frame can also handle heavy-duty loads of up to 30 tonnes. Ideal weight distribution. On the XERION, a bigger contact surface and high weight are combined with ideal weight distribution – 53% at the front and 47% at the rear (with a central cab). These optimum values provide for a clear advantage in the traction and guarantee greater efficiency at the same horsepower in comparison with a standard tractor.
